Basic Systems Maintenance for Ecosystem Information

This suite of Fish Inventory Applications, allows for both public and secured access to MOE Fish Inventory databases. The applications are Java/JSP/Struts/WebADE, accessing Oracle DB. Raptor's project involvement included the maintenance and enhancement of the various interrelated applications in this suite, based on user enhancement requests, and technology platform evolution.

Systems Maintenance and Enhancement of BC Conservation Data Centre's Biotics System

The BC Conservation Data Centre's (CDC) Biotics system is an application suite developed by Natureserve.org, which facilitates the cataloguing of important information regarding the rare and endangered species and ecosystems of British Columbia. Raptor Technologies has assisted the CDC with the general operation of Biotics, as well as its customization and enhancement/extension in order to meet the specialized requirements of the CDC.

Dutch Caribbean Biodiversity Explorer

The Dutch Caribbean Biodiversity Explorer is an authoritative source for information on more than 5,000 plants, animals, and ecosystems of the Dutch Caribbean. Explorer provides public access to relevant information on the taxonomy, ecology, and conservation of all species, as well as information about human use/interactions, and traditional knowledge.

BC Species and Ecosystems Explorer

The BC Species and Ecosystems Explorer is a source for authoritative conservation information on approximately 6000 plants and animals, and almost 600 ecological communities (ecosystems) in British Columbia. BC Species and Ecosystems Explorer is a web application, providing provincially specific information and resources for species and ecological communities. The application support various search criteria options, including conservation or legal status, and spatial distribution, and outputs information in various formats, including Excel, HTML reports, and Google Maps.

BC Hydro Generation Environmental Database (GenEnvDB)

BC Hydro Generation Environmental Database (GenEnvDB). This ASP.NET intranet web application allows client access to Fish Inventory datasets stored in the SQL Server database tier. A flexible browser-based georeference search interface allows the user to find and publish datasets using an Excel reporting engine. Involved as a subcontractor, with primary responsibility for database design and Stored Procedure programming.

This J2EE web application allows public access to Species Inventory document and dataset resources through searchable access to the B.C. Ministry of Sustainable Resource Management Species Inventory (SPI) database.

Species Inventory (SPI)

Client / Server Application development of Species Inventory (SPI) Oracle Database System for the B.C. Ministry of Sustainable Resource Management (SRM). SPI enables the collection of wildlife survey data conforming to 22+ different methodologies, providing province wide access to inventory data. Application development was done using Oracle Designer, Oracle Power Objects, and Oracle Forms.

Taxonomic Workshop

Development of Taxonomic Workshop Database Application for SRM. This application provides for the intuitive access and maintenance of a 10,000 species Taxonomic database. The application and data massaging were originally done in MS Access, and then migrated to Oracle database and development tools.
