The BC Species and Ecosystems Explorer is a source for authoritative conservation information on approximately 6000 plants and animals, and almost 600 ecological communities (ecosystems) in British Columbia. BC Species and Ecosystems Explorer is a web application, providing provincially specific information and resources for species and ecological communities. The application support various search criteria options, including conservation or legal status, and spatial distribution, and outputs information in various formats, including Excel, HTML reports, and Google Maps. Raptor Technologies has been the primary developer for this web application and underlying database since its inception in 2002. Numerous enhancements have been made to the application to expand its search and reporting capabilities.
